Another entertaining read from Edie Clare. I have read all of Edie's books and the characters in the Leigh Koslow stories feel like family. It has been wonderful reading the first one all the way up to this one. Her books are stand alone and you're not left hanging. But why not read them all! I like Edie's flawless writing style and always enjoy the stories. This one sort of had two mysteries involved and that was a nice twist. I was baffled till the end!Product details

The book is an easy and enjoyable read. It wasn't hard to figure out who the "inside" bad guy was early on, but the reader still wants to keep going.
I love the characters. The plots are fun and intriguing. I did figure this one out shortly before the end. Many of the scenes are hilarious without being contrived. I very much identify with the main character, though she is quite different from me. I can see myself walking into some of her escapades. Her family seems real to me - their flaws and strengths seem both real and likeable. The situations don't appear set up. I intend to continue visiting Leigh whenever there is an opportunity.
This was a fun book in a great series. I love the fact that this author is letting the characters progress and now both main characters are now married with pre-teens who play a role in solving the mystery. Because it has been such fun watching the characters change I highly recommend reading it from book one. This was a series I started because book one was free, but I do not mind paying for the rest.
This is the 9th book in a series that had a huge gap in years between numbers 7 and 8. Leigh, her husband Warren and best friend are now in their early 40s and Leigh is struggling with the balance between protecting her 11-year old kids and letting them grow up to be strong and independent people like she is. As usual, this series is reasonably well plotted and amusingly written. I'll be buying #10 as soon as it comes along!
This book series has been a joy to read! The main characters stay throughout the books, the stories are clever and fun to read. The author's wording gets a little repetitive after a while, but I read these just for the joy of reading stories that I can become engrossed in, without them being too complicated. Although there may be some violence or sexual content, they are basically minimal, and are appropriate for young teens to read. I eagerly await more books in this series, and have read some of Edie Claire's other books as well!!!
Really entertaining stories with Leigh as the main character. Leigh's husband & kids give you a good picture of her home life. Her eccentric mother, sweet father & nutty aunts & other extended family are wonderful highlights scattered through the series of mysteries. Leigh constantly ends up involved in them somehow or another, usually in some humorous way. Can't leave out Maura, Leigh's old friend who is a policewoman and finds herself entangled in the cases that need to be solved.
This one is centered around Leigh's father's veterinarian practice, where pet-nappers are stealing & ransoming pets.
Filled with humor and fun, as well as a good whodunnit to figure out, it is an easy & light read sure to become a favorite. I'm hooked on the series like a bass on a cricket!
I have been reading the Leigh Koslow series since book #1. I did not go looking for that book, but thankfully it found me. I was looking around a Half Price Books store and happened on a few of Edie Claire's books. In fact, two of the three I picked up that day were stand alone books and not part of this series at all. I loved them both. The I started in on the first Leigh Koslow, and never looked back. There were a few lean years, when I wasn't able to find any new books by this wonderful, upbeat author. It was disappointing, but things happen. Then, like magic, Leigh reappeared with all sorts of new adventures, a fabulous family and every story better than the last, which really doesn't happen very often in a series.
I believe that the Koslow series is kept fresh and entertaining because the author writes play and other books in between. She has some wonderful YA books out there, for instance. Take a look at her book Wraith. I am far from fitting into the YA category, but I enjoyed that book all the same. I think you will enjoy it, too!
Every single book is filled with twists and turns and mysteries and surprises. Every single book lacks grim gory bits, and has never needed them. This is refreshing and necessary, today. The market is filled with plenty of grisly, gory, stabby books. Far more than we need. Rest assured that entertainment is what you get with Edie Claire. No children or animals suffer in these uplifting, lighthearted and well written books.
